Author: Linda Sue Park
Rating: 4
This book is about two brothers, Kee-sup (older) and Young-sup (younger), who, in the long shot, are very competitive. Kee-sup, being the oldest sun, gets a lot more privileges than Young-sup. On Boys Day that year Kee got a kite and Young didn't. Both brothers wanted to fly the kite. Kee finally gave in but Kee was to fly first. Kee wasn't the best flyer but he did it, for a short time at least. When it was Young's turn he flew manifestly. He flew much better than Kee. The story goes from there, both brothers make new kites. Young gets a kite real of his own. The brothers meet the young king of Korea, who gives Kee a special assignment. The king even asks Young to fly for him in the kite fights at the new years festival! Will all this lead to something great like trust and friendship? Or will it lead to disaster? Find out.
