Uninvited

By Amanda Morrone

A girl named Jordan, Jo, had previously gone out with Michael, a guy described as irresistible. But then he died. Everyone thought he was simply suicidal, but Jordan knew the truth. Michael had been killed by a vampire, yet he was still among the living. On his funeral day he began to walk the earth once again. He has shown up at her window every night for 3 months, begging her to let him in. She says no, but her self control is getting weak. She needs to get rid of him, and fast.

Review by Elizabeth

I really did not think this book with that good. I would rate this book, 2 stars, on a 5 star scale. The literature was not well written, but the storyline was very entertaining.

Hello.
I am sorry I haven't got around to posting in a while. I have been doing so much lately. Right now I am in Sacramento, California for my uncle's graduation. This year I will be going into high school as a freshman. I am really disappointed right now because it turns out that my school district has decided that no freshman is going to be double blocked which means that I am going to be stuck in the bottom two bands. That is a real bummer. I was the best trombone player in my school and I am going to be forced into the bottom bands. But the band is fighting them so I hope that that will be changed.

Last weekend was very important to me because I finally got confirmed. I had to go through the intire service in this hot gown. After the sermon we went up to the alter and the pastor asked us questions about our faith. All in all it was not to painful but it is something that I will remember for a long time.

Then Axel discovers the cryptograph's secret but is determined to keep it from his uncle. But hunger can weaken a man's will and Axel finally gives in and tells his secret. His uncle is thrilled and immediately they prepare to set out for Iceland. There they are joined by Hans, a quiet Icelander that would be their guide, and together they set out for their final destination; the center of the earth and fame.

Title: Dances With Wolves

Author: Michael Blake

Rating: 5

Lieutenant John Dunbar of the United States army has just been sent to Fort Sedgewick with supplies to help the men there. But when he arrives he is amazed to find the fort completely empty, but he still decides to stay and hold the fort. But their are only two people that know were he is and one has just been killed and the other sent off to the loony bin. But when he rescues a Comanche woman from the forest he meets a band of Comanche and they become friends. He eventually becomes part of the band and gets a new name, Dances With Wolves. But when the army returns he must decide if he is a member of the United States Army or a Comanche warrior.
The age of the Indians was coming to a close but it still lives in the hearts and imaginations of the readers who are inspired by Dances With Wolves. This book has inspired me to learn more about the Comanche Indians. What has it inspired you to do.

Junkfood and Journaling

I am doing "Junkfood and Journaling" for the summer at my local library. We are given specific prompts to use as an topic for each week. This week we are writing in the style of Samuel Pepys. The twist is that "he" is here in the modern century! I choose to have Samuel come to the present in a time machine.

Dear Diary,

A lot has changed in 300 years but it is good to experience another time period. Many of the customs that I practiced 300 years ago have either changed, become less practiced, or even ceased to exist. Women are no longer just housewives and child bearers they have been given almost all the privileges that a man has. I see children every where having fun and creating mischief that is impossible in my time. The clothing that these people wear is Outrageous! The women and young ladies show mush more than they should and every one is wearing this strange material called jeans.
It is almost impossible to get through a conversation with out some form of slang or improper grammar. And they are much better and also much worse off than us. I hope that I will be able to return to my time soon and bring back some of tease marvelous snickers bars.

Title: Dragon's Dawn

Author: Anne McCaffrey

Rating: 5

A brand new world open for colonization. A way to start over with a clean slate. A planet called Pern.

Pern. A planet with many positives and very few known negatives. For 8 years they flourished on this land that has almost every thing that they ever wanted. A new planet to explore and colonize with millions of acres of land to support their every need and a world free of the terror and hardships of war.

But when a terrible menace called Thread, an almost evil substance that feeds on and destroys any thing organic, descends on them things start to look very grim on their new home. With the help of a species of small fire-breathing dragonets they are able to fight off the Thread. But the Tread continues to fall but they continue to fight it. But how long can they keep it up.
The only way to survive is to find or create something that will be able to fight Tread, is intelligent, though even fairly intelligent would suffice, and can be controlled by people. Since there were no such creatures to be found they put their best genetic engineers to work.

After months of hard work the first clutch of genetically engineered dragons hatched. Each of the 18 dragons chose a person to care for them and eventually ride them. 18 dragons and 18 riders destined to fight Thread. But will it be enough?

Title: The Raven

Author: Edgar Allan Poe

Rating: 5

This is one of the many poems by Edgar Allan Poe. It is a very good poem but at first I didn't really understand it. It took awhile before I fully understood it even after I had been told the main idea. In this poem raven represents death. What I believe that that the man in this poem is going to die and death is tapping at his door. This poem uses lots of figurative speech and it makes it sound very pretty. Such as "Prophet!,' said I, 'Thing of evil! Prophet still if bird or devil! Whether Tempter sent or tossed thee here ashore, Desolate ye tall undaunted, On this home by horror haunted-tell me truly, I implore- Is there balm in Gilead?- tell me- tell me I implore!' Quoth the Raven, 'Nevermore." It would be a good idea to read The Raven.
