Title: Forgotten Beasts of Eld

Author: Patricia A. McKillip

Rating: 4

At the beginning of the story Sybel's grandfather, Mrk started calling all of the forgotten beast from the land of Eldwood to begin a collection of the animals. All the animals he called came. Finally he called a wife for him. She gave birth to a baby boy. He was named Ogam. As the boy grew his father taught him to call as well. After Mrk died Ogam called a kings oldest daughter to him. She gave birth to one child and died. The child was a girl, Ogam named her Sybel. He taught Sybel everything he knew. Ogam died when Sybel was sixteen years old. This story is pretty sad so far, isn't it. That same year Coren of Sirle appeared at her gates with a child, a child that needed protection from the king. A child that was thought to be from an unholy union between the Queen and one of the Lords of Sirle. The child was named Tamlorn and she took care of him with the help an old lady that was her closest neighbor. When Tamlorn is older, Coren of Sirle comes back and tells Sybel that he needs to take the child back to his father the King of Eldwood. This story is about how Sybel grows up from a lone hearted girl to a woman, from a woman to a member of a royal family. Many things happen during this transformation. Those challenges help her along this journey. You will have to read this book to learn about the other surprising surprises in this book.

Title: The Circle Opens; (2) Street Magic

Author: Tamora Pierce

Rating: 5+

At the beginning of the story Briar and Rosethorn are in the city of Chammur. Chammur was just a stop on there way to Yanjing. Every city Briar and Rosethorn had passed could use the help of plant mages, as Briar and Rosethorn were, Chammur was the same. They got so many requests for help that Briar and Rosethorn knew they would have to stay a while. Six weeks after there arrival Briar finished supplying the Water Temple with fresh medicines and herbs, the supplies would last a year; and decided to go to Golden House. Golden House was a large market where a diverse assortment of goods were sold. While waking through the market Briar sees a street girl named Evvy using magic to polish stones. When Briar tries to talk to her she runs. On the way back to his house Briar is stopped by some gang members called Vipers, when they finally let him pass they sends another Viper to shadow (follow) him. Why would they do that? When Briar gets closer to his house he asks some Camelguts he had made friends with to get rid of his shadow. If he had looked up he would have seen someone else had followed him home. After Briar finally caches Evvy the Camelguts start turning up injured: some small, some large, a few fatal. Its up to Briar and Evvy to help the Camelguts. The Vipers and the Camelguts have a gang war, the Vipers win! After the gang war the Vipers ask the Camelguts to join them, the Camelguts finally agree. How sad. With the Camelguts now joining the Vipers it will be much harder to keep the Vipers from getting Evvy. Many more things happen to them, will they survive them all?

I am Home!
Hi everyone! My trip is over and I'm back in Texas. I have a lot of books I need to share with you. I will post one soon. I did a lot of stuff on my trip. You can read about it at Sea to Shining Sea , my dad wrote it. My favorite part of the trip was my grandpa's farm. We caught a cute kitten we named Rascal. I got to ride in a swather, it cuts the wheat and puts it in to rows, for about three hours! Bemidji, Minnesota was fun to, I got to go tubing. My summer was way cool I hope yours was too.
