In the beginning of the story the gryphon, Skandranon, is on a mission to find out about a new weapon the enemy has. He gets home in one piece and brings back one of the weapons. Skandranon and his human friend Amberdrake are taking part in a war against Ma'ar, and evil mage. My favorite part was when Skandranon's friend, Zhaneel does her practice course and saves another gryphon that is "hostage". She has to go through a variety of spells and traps to get to her goal and back. She has to accomplish this task which includes bringing back the "hostage". Zhaneel even had to "defeat" two gryphons that are simulating Makaar, bird like beings that are the enemies to the gryphons. This book is very adventurous and is very pleasurable to read. I hope you will read this book.
