| Thursday, January 22, 2004 Living Museum: Theodore Roosevelt Speech to School
Hello! My name is Theodore Roosevelt. I was the 26th president of the United States of America. I was born on Oct 27, 1858 at 28 East 20th Street, New York City. Though out my life I have been a pretty responsible man. I lead the Rough Riders in Cuba to victory over Spain and help stop the Russo-Japanese War, earning me the Nobel Peace Prize. There are many things that make a president unique from all the other presidents. I opened several National Parks, National Monuments, and the United States Forest Service. Another thing I did was break up large trusts, large companies that controlled part of the economy and abused their power. I had a pretty large family. I had six children. I wrote a lot of books. One of my series was "Winning of the West". I sure enjoyed talking with you. I hope you had fun.
