This book is about the life of Theodore Roosevelt. Theodore was born on Oct. 27, 1858, he suffered from asthma and needed help to breath. As he grew older his dad built a gym in there home so Theodore could build up his strength. In 1872 Theodore got his first gun. Because he couldn't read distant billboards and he was very incapable of making a shot his family saw his nearsightedness. His father got Theodore his spectacles a little while after his first gun. In 1876 Theodore went to Harvard Collage. He left collage in 1880 and married Alice Hathaway Lee. Alice gave birth to baby girl but Alice died two days after giving birth with Theodore's mother. In 1885 Theodore ran into his old childhood friend Edith Carow and they fell in love. They got married and had five children. When Cuba wanted independence from Spain, America decided to help. Theodore joined the army and started the Rough Riders. They were a big help. On Sept. 14, 1901 Theodore Roosevelt became president. He did many things while president, like ending the Russo-Japanese War and braking up large trusts that abused their power. Another thing he did was create several national parks, monuments, and the United States Forest Service. In 1908 Theodore takes leave from office and pretty much gives it to William Taft. On April 5, 1914 Theodore was traveling on a river in the jungle, he had jumped out of the boat to save it from crashing he gashed his leg on a sharp rock and grew sick. He recovered partly. Theodore Roosevelt died Jan. 6, 1919.
