Rating: 3

SCIENCE BOOK REPORT

ABOUT THE BOOK
The book I read was Reptile it is part of the Eyewitness book series. It talked about all reptiles. The author is Colin McCarthy.

REPTILE GROUPS
Turtles and Tortoises
Some differences between turtles and tortoises are there shells. A turtle has a flat shell and a tortoise has a humped shell. Soft-shelled Turtles and Red-eared Terrapins live in Texas and other wetlands, while Giant Tortoises live in the Galapagos Islands.

Snakes and Lizard
Snakes and lizards make up the main grope of reptiles. One of the interesting things about them is it is believed that snakes evolved from lizards! Some lizards are known for when they lose their tail they re-grow it!

Crocodile Clan
Crocodiles and their relatives are farley large, but is not true with the Caiman witch is relatively small as to being to the alligator side of the family. The Gavial has a long snout even though it has weak jaws.

Tuataras
Tuataras are living fossils, their relatives dyed out millions of years ago. They live on a few islands off the coast of New Zealand. They have the longest incubation period of any reptile.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
BOOK
My favorite part of the book was when they talked about the bones. I liked that part because it showed the pictures of the bones and gave interesting facts about them. My favorite reptile was the Anole Lizard because it is so cute and I have two of them. I recommend that if you want to learn about reptiles you should get this book because it has good information.
HOME
I have four types of reptiles at home a skink, a snake, two geckos, and two anole lizards. Their fun to watch when their out and running about. I feed them crickets. It's fun to make habitats for our reptiles to live in.
